Monteverdi's "Zefiro torna" with the cornet player Jean Tubéry and the Ensemble La Fenice
Concert film from the Music Salon Weissenbrunn

»Who rides so late through the night and wind?« … This is the first line of one of the most famous German poems. Even 240 years later, it still captures our imagination. Johann Friedrich Reichardt, a composer Goethe rated very highly, created an impressive setting to music of this ballad. Whenever the Erlking appears, even today’s listeners shudder with horror, enhanced by the dramatic talent of Greek soprano, Fanie Antonelou. A touching climax to a concert film which is all about the genius of Goethe.

Recorded in November 2020 in the context of the Artist-in-Residence Programme,
With support from the Schloss Weißenbrunn Foundation in co-operation with CLOSER by culiner creative circle.

"AFFINITIES" - RECORDING of Greek and German art songs - with Fanie Antonelou and Kerstin Mörk
by Bis Records

BIS-2439.jpg

EUR 20 incl. postage

"Antonelou does vary her vocal color considerably. She pays close aftention to text and mood, singing with a real personality.

Kerstin Mörk is more than an accompanist; she is a true collaborative pianist who delves into the spirit of the music. BIS's recorded sound is very natural and well balanced between singer and piano. Fine program notes by Yannis Samprovalakis, along with complete texts and translations in Greek, Cerman, and English complete a highly recommendable project."
